I am working on two new paintings, we will see what comes out.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div> Mon, 23 Jan 2012 14:34:31 CST Working in oil with palette knives by Charles Guay <div>This Thursday Charly Guay will demonstrate his palette technique at Happy Hollow and the Gallery next Door in Mansfield.&nbsp;</div><div>Charly was my teacher for a couple of years and I learned a lot about painting from him: oil, acrylics, brushes and palette knives. I saw his wonderful paintings, can really appreciate his technique, however I never saw the whole process and how he is handling his palette knives.</div><div>I am really looking forward to Charly sharing his techniques with us.&nbsp;</div> Mon, 07 Nov 2011 09:03:01 CST Sharon Creative Arts Association Show at Hunakai Studios <div>Saturday night was the reception for the fall SCAA show at Hunakai Studios in Foxboro.</div><div>There were lots of entries well displayed from our local artists. </div><div>I have four or my latest pieces in the show, and as they are larger and more colorful than most of the other pieces of art entered, they are on the back wall and you see them immediately as you enter the gallery. I was pleased.</div><div>The reception was well attended and it was great to see all &nbsp;my fellow artists and their work.&nbsp;</div> Mon, 07 Nov 2011 08:53:57 CST Show and Tell <div>A very successful "Show and Tell" meeting kicked of the 2011/2012 season of the Sharon Creative Arts Association.&nbsp;</div><div>Some artists shared their work, others told about events or presented other artists' work.</div><div>Each member had stories to accompany their presentation.</div><div>We reconnected with each other and who we are besides our art.&nbsp;</div><div>It was an &nbsp;interesting and very diverse meeting.</div><div>I am looking forward to the rest of the year.&nbsp;</div> Wed, 14 Sep 2011 09:48:09 CDT Commissioned Painting <div><img src="/admin/../resources/img/blog_img/61/Triptych_Jpeg_sept.jpg" width="300" height="128" alt="" /></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>I got my first commissioned painting and it was an exciting enterprise. I was to paint a huge triptych, each panel larger than anything I ever painted before, resembling my diptych that has found a home in Palo Alto.</div><div>This was a very different way of painting. I was not in front of a blank canvas not knowing what colors to use, or where my brushstrokes will take me. I had a guideline, but could still let my imagination go.&nbsp;</div><div>What a thrill when the triptych was completed. It is currently on its way to its owners in Washington &nbsp;DC, and will arrive hopefully for their brunch on Sunday.</div> Wed, 07 Sep 2011 14:23:36 CDT
